Students must understand how to successfully market their skills on social media in today’s competitive job market. Faculty serve an important role in helping their students to develop a professional identity and how to network with potential employers. However, faculty may be unfamiliar with digital platforms such as LinkedIn that can be used to promote one’s credentials. This includes understanding how to connect LinkedIn with other well-proven professional development resources and strategies.

In this webinar, the presenters will share methods for helping students form their own professional identity, develop a LinkedIn profile, and initiate a professional networking system. Teaching assignments and methods will be shared that focus on helping students articulate their professional credentials and initiate professional networking processes in an appropriate manner. Additional tips and strategies for professional development and complementary assignments such as program portfolios will also be discussed.
