Working Definitions: a Glossary
Completion requirements
The Glossary is a very powerful tool and can be used in many ways. Here, it is used to ask students to explore their own definitions and ideas about specific terms, prompted in the main body of the course. As Glossary has an 'add comments' feature in Moodle, tutor and student(s) can engage in further debate and/or discussions about terms or phrases within the Glossary itself. Please note, in anonymising some of the data from this course, some comments are no longer displayed in their original order.
This 'Working Definitions' Glossary is a space for us to create our own meanings for terms and concepts that we encounter in this Course. You will notice that the 'Terms to Consider' Glossary is littered with structured definitions from encyclopedias, literary term texts and the like; here, however, I would like you to challenge some of those definitions and begin to shape your own concept of what these terms mean. As we continue with the course I will import your definitions into the 'Terms to Consider' Glossary. To add an entry to this glossary, choose the 'add an new entry' button below. The word you wish to define should be typed into the 'concept' field and your definition should be typed in the definition field. You may also type in key words if you wish. Remember to save your changes.
