This seminar will focus on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)– an empirically validated approach to couple and family therapy based on the new science of adult attachment. The attachment perspective will be outlined and its implications for intervention distilled. The EFT approach will be described including, stages, steps, core practices and interventions, as well as key change events associated with positive outcomes at termination and follow-up. A short clip of couple therapy will be shown and implications for working with couples facing depression, PTSD, affairs, and other injuries and addictions will be briefly outlined. A short exercise will be included.
