The first webinar will focus on coding in qualitative research. Qualitative researchers agree coding processes are time consuming, difficult to describe, and must be adjusted to the unique needs of a research inquiry. The webinar presenters will use research study examples to demonstrate the evolution of findings – an analytical progression from the initial research question through the coding process to achieve a higher level of findings. The presenters will demonstrate how systematic repetition generates internal validity and the reasons an automated keyword search through the data is only effective in limited instances.
